Genting Hotel, a spa and a licensed casino share one building on the NEC campus

The complex opened to the public in stages from 21 October 2015. Reporting at the time put the development at £150m across seven floors and roughly 538,000 square feet, built by the Genting Group.^{[5, 16]} Genting Hotel takes up one part of it. The casino, Santai Spa and Leisure Club, a Cineworld cinema with an IMAX screen, a bowling alley, escape rooms, outlet shops, bars and restaurants fill the rest.^{[6, 2]}

That arrangement is the practical reason to consider staying here. A bedroom, a rooftop restaurant, a spa and a licensed gaming floor are reachable on foot without leaving the building, which is unusual in Great Britain, where casinos and hotels are more often separate businesses a short journey apart.
